Welcome to Black Hammock Island

Black Hammock Island and Cedar Point is apart of the Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve of the National Park Service located in the northern part of Jacksonville, Florida.   

This website will provide you with very interesting insight of the actual history dating back to 1560, the British Ruling period and two subsequent Spanish Ruling periods as well.  

You will soon learn of who, what and where during the Spanish Grants of Land, The British Ruling, American Revoluntionary War,  Spanish Rulings, the Civil War, a Sheriff, Lawyers, State Laws, Politics and Governors.

Who actually owned the land which inhibits Cedar Point which is located on Black Hammock Island.

All of the facts have been researched and all resources and credits are noted throughout the text.
